Who Really Has Time For Awful Broken Teeth?

It seems that the times where we’re in the biggest rush is when the most inopportune things happen. A lot of us have been in the position, or dread, the moment where you’re eating a seemingly innocent soft piece of food and a tooth breaks.

You know the situation: You only have a quick lunch break before you have to get back. You’re trying to quickly scarf down and that not so normal crunch happens.

Making the effort to squeeze in a daily lunch is enough work as it is. No one should have to worry about cracked or chipped teeth in addition to the daily demands.

Imagine breaking a tooth a day or two before a big meeting, date, or other event where you have to look your best. That sounds terrible, right? After all, you can’t just have your teeth fixed in a day and return immediately back to living life.

Or can you?

A single-visit fix does exist for these problems. If it sounds too good to be true, you’re appropriately skeptical. Here’s the good news, though – it’s entirely possible to have your teeth fixed in a single visit with Dr. James D. Powell here at Exceptional Dentistry in Palmdale, California.

How, you ask?

Well, thanks to advances in modern dentistry (and Dr. James D. Powell‘s inner tech geek) we offer CEREC®. That stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, and is a service that can create custom dental crowns or custom onlays on the same day you come in.

If you’ve ever had a crown before, or know anyone else who’s had one, then you know it’s usually a two-week process. A mold has to be taken of your teeth (aka that gunky impression material no one really likes), measurements made to design a crown, and then those measurements have to be sent to a dental lab where the crown will be made.

That takes time. And after all that, you still have to go back to have it cemented in place.

Who has time for that?

Our crowns are custom-made in house, and we completely eliminate that two-week process. There’s no gunky impressions needed either, thanks to the CEREC machine.

CEREC uses solid blocks of super strong porcelain to create custom restorations. The porcelain matches your natural tooth color and has been proven to be longer lasting as well as creating a stronger bond to your tooth.

If you break a tooth, a filling falls out, or a crown is needed, you can come see our team. We will take a digital picture of your tooth, custom design it to keep as much of your natural healthy tooth as possible, and then you can watch the restoration be milled right in the office — all in a little over an hour.

No matter how your tooth problems tried to throw your day, if a crown can fix the problem, then so can our team and the CEREC service we offer.
